If sharing this at the end October is any indication, your girl has been struggling lately. There’s a heaviness that lands like a fog when I take a big swing on something and it does not go the way I thought it would. I’m positive it will all work out, but I have a tendency of letting myself get caught up in the dreariness for a bit. I realize that this effectively makes me the problem, so that’s what I’ve been working on these past few weeks.
The Apps I Open Daily:
Activations: Reviews on this app are mixed, and I totally get why. These “activations” aren’t quite meditations, but with a ton of choices, topics, and lengths, I can always find what I need to get me back on track. I’ve been especially into the journaling prompts lately.
Ladder: I have never been a work-out app person. I love long walks and hot yoga classes. BUT - there’s something about the Ladder app (go Team Define) that keeps me coming back. With Team Maia, the focus is on weights and Pilates, things my body loves and responds to. Plus, workout are typically 30-40 minutes, making it just enough time that I can suck it up to get it done while still feeling like I did enough to make a difference. Want to poke around? The Only Thing I’ve Put on my Lips for Months:
The other day my mom asked me what I put on my lips since they “are always such a pretty color and look so hydrated.” It’s the Facile Lip Jelly in Rose. I love a hint of color but often find that too much makes me feel overdone, and this pink is the perfect everyday lip whether I’m running to the grocery store, hopping on a video call, or even attending a wedding.
One Thing That Brought Joy:
Have you watched Persuasion on Netflix? The yearning! I watched it when it was released a few years ago and liked it enough, but I watched it recently and loved it. It’s romantic, funny, and has a happy ending. (yay) If you’re really sad that Pride & Prejudice (2005) is no longer on Netflix, this may lessen the pain.
